These little cakes are so easy to make that you won’t believe how exquisite they turn out. Their taste will blow you away. Perfect for a dinner party or even as a nice family week-end dessert.

Walnut Cake

½ cup of butter
1 cup of white sugar
½ cup of cornstarch
½ cup of milk
1 cup of flour
1 tsp. Baking powder
White of 2 eggs (beaten stiff)
1 cup chopped walnuts
Vanilla
Beat to a cream the butter and sugar.
Dissolve the cornstarch in the milk and add the flour, baking powder, the egg whites and walnuts. Flavor with vanilla. Bake in a moderate oven for 45 minutes.

How to make cake mix

Cake mix to store in quart jars until you decide what cake below you would like to make with it.

9 cups of flour
¼ cup of baking powder
4 tsps. Salt
6 cups of powdered milk
3 cups +2 teaspoons of shortening or margarine

Mix or rub all together. Put in quart jars. This is what can be made out of the mix.

Yellow cake
1 quart mix
1 cup water
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Chocolate Cake
1 quart mix
1 cup water
2 eggs
½ cup cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
More water may be added if necessary

I always wondered how to make tortilla dip, until one  day an aunt of mine showed me how and i thought i would share the recipe. Trust me this is great tortilla dip. All 4 of my kids love it!

* Big hit in my house *(Don’t freeze this)

1 lb sour cream
1lb cream cheese
1 package of spicy taco dry mix
1/4 cup salsa sauce or diced up tomatoes
1/4 cup of diced onions
1 green pepper
1/2 cup of grated cheese.
