Have you ever wondered how to make money selling your crafts online? Well I am here to tell you that yes there is a way. There is a website Etsy.com that is all about selling handmade crafts online. You get a free shop to sell online. Many members are making money online from the privacy of their own home. Some are doing very well and work from home selling their handmade crafts.

You will need to sign up for a FREE account. You will also need a credit card to sign up for security reasons. Then fill out your profile. Almost all potential buyers like to view your profile.

Customize your shop. Post your own banner, add your shop policies and add any information on your profile that you think potential buyers would want to know. You can even add an image of yourself on your profile.

Now you are ready to post your first homemade craft for sale.  Be sure to add your item in great detail along with shipping details. If you do pre ordered sales. Be sure to mention this. It has never been easier to make money online selling your homemade crafts.

Fees: The fee to post a listening is 0.20USD. In my opinion this is cheap! Your listening stays active up to 4 months. Note: This fee is 0.20USD PER listening. Etsy also charges 3.5% fee per listening (shipping not included) on final sale price.

How do I get paid for my listening if I sell an item?
You get paid through PayPal. Be sure to have a PayPal account. If you do not have one or you don’t know how to set one up. Have a look at “How to Set up a PayPal Account” to the right of this article.

How to stand out on Etsy?
There are many ways to get your shop and items noticed coupon codes, Facebook search engines etc.

    Coupon Codes
Coupon codes are available to place on your listings. You can use these in two different ways.
    1. Percent Discounts, 10% off (not including shipping)
    2. Free Shipping can be limited to local areas only.

    Place a Showcase
By Placing a showcase this can help increase more views, potential sales, and more awareness to your item listing(s). The fee is $7.00USD. Your showcase will be posted for 24 hours.

    Advertise for Free on Facebook
You can suggest a gift idea to a friend or friends on Facebook. All you have to do is grant Etsy permission to display items based on your friends profile Facebook page.

Have your shop listings on your blog or website.
More exposure can help you sell your crafts by placing a mini shop of either your items of your favorite items. You will be provided with a code that you can then place within your website or blog.

    Advertize on your Twitter account
In order to do this simply go to your settings on Etsy and add your Twitter account.

You may want to sign up with an account with Google Analyses if you don’t already have one. Google Analyses are where you can view what item pages are getting most views and returning visitors. You will be able to see how your listings are being found. Such as your blog, Facebook or where ever you have a link to your listing(s)

Once you are a member browse through the site and get involved with the community. Other members do buy items they like. You may have potential buyers within the community. Have fun joining teams of other member and share ideas and socialize with other crafty members.  This is an option as you don’t have to socialize but I must say Etsy has some wonderful and friendly members. If you ever have a question and it is not in the “help” area of the website. You can post your question on their forum. Most get answered fairly quickly.
